What I'm up to

So... the band is off again. CB and I had such a fun week together hanging out before he left- eating out nearly every night, going to the beach, taking walks on the bike path- preparing for this time apart.

*I've been asked to post this part, but warning- it is really nerdy** The morning he left, we made this paper chain. (I had made one for him when I went to Germany for my high school exchange trip, so it seemed perfect to make one now) Each week is a different color to help me see the passage of time. As you can see, I've nearly finished week one- there is only one yellow link left!
The white links (kind of hard to see but there are two, the first one is in the center) represent the days that I'm planning on visiting him.

I'm really looking forward to the trip to NYC (the first white link- and now about 12 days away). I haven't been back since we went 5 years ago. And that trip... well, let's just say I had the premier NY experience- I ate delicious pizza, got robbed (well, thieved at least- my purse was stolen by a guy in a big puffy coat) in Macy's of all places, the subway had some sort of explosion and we were evacuated (ashton, their old drummer Tim, and I) and had to walk for probably what seemed like 200 blocks, and then once it reopened- we got lost wandering around Brooklyn trying to find our way back. That was my experience- CB spent the entire three days in a basement recording studio. But even after all that, I still have good thoughts of the city, and so I'm very excited to get some time in NY above ground with CB, hopefully keeping my purse in hand--- I've definitely learned my lesson.

More news- I'm on a softball team! My office has decided to join the Burbank leagues, and I'm on the team. I got some good practice time in with Caleb before he left and he gave me some pointers on how to throw better, so hopefully I won't embarrass myself... but in case you'd like to come see if I do embarrass myself- games are Monday nights, starting May 4th in Burbank.

Here is my jersey, I really like how they turned out. The executives surprised us by buying the hats to wear- they say casting director on back- haha I bought my cleats (Adidas with pink stripes!! Woohoo!) and now all I need are my baseball pants and tall socks- and yes, I am planning to wear them. If you're going to do something... might as well go all the way, huh? :)

Cute jersey!

And I totally love the paper chain, nerdy or not. :) I was SO bummed when we left ours in the corporate housing in LA. We still had a week left and I had big plans for a picture with the last loop at the airport. Oh well!

Reading your blog and Emily's comment makes me realize that paper chains are "common". I made one before our move downtown. It was fun. Every one had a note inside for Chris before he left to work. ;)

And, Loving the jersey. Very cute on you---You're gonna make one good lookin' softball player! :) I'll be there to cheer you on....I can't wait!
